Do not claim that his story is false. Nothing is worse than people not beliving you when you are at your lowest. That is one person's troubles and if you can't understand that then stop claiming it is false. That being said it is ONE person's issue. Immigrants do have an issue when it comes to finding a job without Canadian degrees / education but its not impossible. If you are confident in your interview skills/transferrable skills then Canada is an awesome country with great opportunities. I am not sure which country just hands out jobs or in which country you land and get a high paying job right off the bat but if there a country like that then please explore options in that country's direction. Canada is certainly not like that, you need to work hard but you will get a job in 3-5 months tops if you look hard enough.

Absolutely Praneet. Totally agree with you. One shouldn't be so insensitive to another's troubles. Hope he finds a job soon.
I feel the root cause of this whole issue is landing there along with family. I think everyone will agree that sustaining a livelihood in a new country for a single person is difficult as it is. But taking your family along, especially young children isn't advisable at all. On your own you have the liberty to move around cities, looking for jobs and a better livelihood. Not only will you save money but also spare your family the initial hardships of settlement.

Good luck to deerestlovelybear. Just keep trying. The more you struggle to achieve something, the sweeter the success. Just hand in there.

Thanks, but I have applied for whitecollar jobs from outside Canada and received positive replies only for my my prospective employers to backpedal because of the LMIA involved. It seems so easy to get a job.
Secondly I wouldn't move my entire family at once. It is better to go alone first, settle down and then think of bringing your family over.
First of all, from receiving responds till interview and finally offer of employment is very very far apart. I TOO HAVE RECEIVED LOTS OF REPLIES when I got my PR but not yet landed, which gave me the false illusion of the job prospect here and did not hesitate to leave everything and pack up with entire family without any backup plan to fall back to. The hard fact I learnt is that eery company there are hr people (often temp and casual) who job is just to fill up resumes for each position for compliance purpose. Even if job is already filled internally b4 advertising out, recruitment still need to be carried on for auditing and compliance. HR love to boast they received 1000 applications, contacted 300, shortlisted 100 and offer 1 (chosen b4 recruitment). My advise is only when you are here, stop accusing others of lying.

It just seems to me that you are trying to discourage others from trying. I mean you've been there for three years. In the first place, you shouldn't be posting under this segment. This segment is for topics that have to do with Expression of Interest/Express Entry. You've been in Canada for three years. I don't see how your problem is related to Express Entry. Find the right place to express yourself. Good luck to you all the same.

Yes, I have my PR. I was laid off last week and I have free time so I am here and venting our my frustration and to let you guys know of the reality, believe me or not is up to you. I was an applicant years ago and I wished I had learnt more and did my homework, you should be grateful to have people like me who are bold enough and have time to write about our true experience. With your attitude, I wish you good luck!

To people that think it is easy to move, even if you are single, it is not that simple. When you are here, you will find how hard it is to secure housing, and every landlord will ask you to sign 1 year lease, if you move early, you either have to find someone to sublet or have to pay the entire year of lease. Life is not always easy as you wish.

To all others, it's good to have the PR and if you are from countries which is still riddled with corruptions, poverty, diseases then you may find it better here in Canada. But never ever plan your move without doing your homework, never bring entire family at once when you do not have sufficient fund to last for at least 1 year without doing anything.

It's just that your experience is quite different from experiences of some other immigrants. Afterall, you're not the only immigrant. Please stop all these tales of doom and gloom.

i think this man is trying to discourage people to apply for unknown reason!!!! he did not mention anything about his work history or what kind of qualification he has!!! here is a clear message,, if u don't like it there , you would not stay for one single day .. i lived in Australia before and i know what kind of life standard difference people can find in those new countries.. people r ready to cross the ocean in boats just to get there...play another game dude coz discouraging people here would not give you that much advantage in your application processing for PR u did not obtain yet as i guess :(
I am not trying to discourage anyone from applying. In fact I encourage EVERYONE to apply if you are from destitute, corrupted countries without opportunities. Having the PR from Canada or any other countries can only be good and do no harm. What I am trying to say is before you move your entire family here, you should do your homework, never burnt every bridge and always have a back up plan. What if you cannot get a job that pay enough to support your family within 6 months, do you have enough money to continue searching for jobs without taking surviving jobs? Did you have family or friends that you can rely on? Should you move to Toronto or Vancouver or Red Deer, Fort Murray? Don't be a victim of overconfidence, life is miserable if you do not plan well, I learnt the lesson but it is too late and too expensive to make the corrections and I am struggling. I do not want to see more people become destitute and desperate in this country like we do (and many of other immigrant families I know).

There are people who are lucky and get a good job, who know, you maybe one of them. I am not generalizing, what I am telling here is based on my experience only and that's all I wanna say. However, having said that, I am well surrounded with immigrant community here and certainly know that our situation is not uncommon.

So, you don't like seeing/hearing Real Life accounts/experiences?

It is NOT always easy to find a job in one's domain, or at the career level one had before immigrating.

Sometimes one has to take any job available to make ends meet. I applaud & admire the OP for doing so, & for having the courage to post that it's not always easy here in Canada once one lands.

If you compare with other developed countries canada immigration is different.

Take for example US:
US giving H1B visas(non-immigrant visas) 85000/annum. In this 98% are Highly skilled jobs , minimum income threshold is 60k and you should have job offer .After spending 6-7 years on H1B visas US giving Green cards (PR cards).

US is a vast country having 50 states and 319 million population and investing money in service sector. So US is a big big market.

Usually H1B holders will get 100k. This is three times higher than the normal average US citizen income.

take for example Canada

giving PRs 260000/ annum in that most of them with out job offers . This is almost 3-times higher than US H1Bs. Canada Population is 35 million 10-times less than the US. Here you can see major difference. small market giving too much immigration. And again ask you study in local colleges and universities. ( wasting of time and money.).
One immigrant came with family landed in canada again he is studying who will bear family expenses.

Canada economy is depended upon natural sources like oil in alberta, potash in SK not on service sector and R&D .

Tell me one big fortune-500 company founded by Canadians?.( Black berry now sucks)

Bottom line : canada is good for labour jobs not for white collar jobs. Small country(population) giving too much immigration.

BUT, we can't compare this: the U.S. has no PR visa stream which grants PR *without a confirmed job offer* (spouse stream excepted).
