I am doomed :(

Got my results today. (The magic number 8777 is missing)

Listening 8.0
Reading 7.5
Writing 6.5
Speaking 7.5

Should I go for revaluation? What are the consequences of the same?

- Is there a chance that my score will be reduced? (Say Listening 8 to 7)
- How long will it take for revaluation?

Please help :(

I revaluated my scores last year

And they increased my w score with .5

If they will change your score after revaluating u will get the refund of your revaluating fee

I got the refubd as well

If u have the confidence that this was not the exact score than go for revaluation

if you are confident that you did well in writing then go for revaluation, time for revaluation process is 8 to 10 weeks. you can choose which module you want to apply though fee is same whether you apply for single or multiple modules.
success rate is there
Fill the revAluation form, along with demand draft , self attested passport copy and original TRF send to your local british council division

Thanks guys.

I'm not sure if I deserve 7 in writing. I know I committed some mistakes. But since as you are saying I can apply for revaluation only for writing module itself, I think I'll go for this (since other modules are untouched).

Also, is there a chance that my score in writing is decreased from the present score post revaluation?

Thanks again!

HI All,

My score for general module is :
L:8.5
R:7.5
S:6.5
W: 6.5

need 0.5 more in speaking and writing. What do u suggest :
1. shall I send for re-review....do they increase any score?
2. can I in parallel create EE profile with this score?
3. are there chances of decrease in the existing score?

Many Thanks for the help...

Dips.

IELTS Fraudulent Unethical Practices

My case

1st appearance result L 8.5 R 7 S 7 W 6.5

2 nd appearance result L 8.5 R 7 S 7 W 6.5 Unbelievable results for me. I started doubting my own competency.

Tried three time. Performed exceedingly well in all the four sections. No success.

I did my masters, 5 years experience with an MNC. Daily interactions with American, British counterparts with includes L R S W

I believe the marking, results, are highly manipulated. IT is not based on performance, merits of all the four sections.
Seems fixed revenue targets.

NO CHOICE FOR ASPIRANTS WHO TARGET BAND 9 THEN TO REAPPEAR TILL THEY ACHIEVE THE DESIRED BANDS.

For missing .5 marks in writing, I lost lot of marks around 62 in Express Entry for Canada PR. My present CRS 432. Imagine 482 I would have.

Hope some top executive reads all these complaints and take necessary actions. I doubt as they have Monopoly and increase there revenues by assigning lower bands.

Good luck to all.

if you are confident that u r undermarked then go for revaluation, it do work in many cases.
if you apply for revaluation you cannot use the scores of that test as result is frozen and not viewable to cic( incase you are invited)
scores usually remains same or increased

They don't have monopoly. You may go for celpip. Don't think ielts is manipulative in your case. Same scores in multiple attempts proof they might be right. You may go for reevaluation. Also get your writing verified by professionals, I am sure you would find scope to improve. Since the gap is only 0.5, you would surely be able to overcome it.

It all depends on your command over the language. Having said that, try to practice all the tests given as part of the workbook and ensure to strictly adhere by the actual test time. Half of the work is done if you are quite familiar with the test format, question patterns, know what to look for and how, all of this can be acquired only through practice, otherwise, even a good English speaker be surprised/taken back on the actual test day. For more information in this regard, there is a forum and threads dedicated to this topic, you can get answers to all your questions here http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/ielts-international-english-language-testing-system-b53.0/.

All the best! :)

Its a pretty old post.. still wonder and want to know whether you got any success in going for re-valuation :)

Hello,
In my first attempt I have scored L7.5,R8,W6.5,D6
In second attempt-L 8.5,R 7,W 6,S6.5
So I want to ask some questions
1) Should I apply for rechecking for writing ?
2) Should I recheck all the modules ? Will it charge more?
3) Are there any chances of reduction in band scores ?
