Which is the best airline to fly from India to Canada? Is it advisable to fly by British Airways from Delhi to Vancouver via London? Would be grateful if anyone having experience with BA can share his/ her views.

BA is good. Also check Lufthansa, it will be cheaper.

Hi friends,

I am planning to land Calgary 30th June or July beginning 2015, along with my wife and 5 months baby. After much of comparison, I have narrowed down my options to either British Airways or KLM airlines, keeping low prices in mind.

Someone advised me to avoid Heathrow airport, as it has high security checks, crowded and busiest long terminals which is not comfortable while travelling with infant and lots of luggages. So kind of confused among two.

Would appreciate if someone could share their experiences with BA or KLM, keeping in mind their baggage allowance, child friendly policies and lay over experiences.

Regards

Yes London is a very busy airport and you may have to change terminals using tube trains or buses. I used to fly via Frankfurt by Lufthansa. It is good and less crowded than London.

Why not taking flights (such as China Southern, China Eastern & Cathay Pacific) via China to Vancouver?

Thanks everyone for the reply.

I have already explored the options for Lufthansa and Cathay Pacific but the baggage allowance is the key. BA providas more baggage allowance than any other airline. Not sure if it is good to fly by China Southern.

Which dates are you expecting to fly? if its September then go for China Southern, you will see 22 & 27 Sep heavy discount. British Airways is excellent but the only problem is landing time is in evening and then you will not able to to get ur SIN @ airport as the counter close at 5.

I have not decided yet but it most probably be in September.

I am trying to finalize my travel schedule and have decided to book my seats through British Airways via London. There are two options for me. One of the flights has approx. 6-7 hours halt at London and another one gives me 2 hours.

- Is it manageable to change flight with 2 hours of stay at Heathrow or should I go with the 6 hours of layover.
- Will we need to transfer luggage (check-out and then check-in to the next one) from one flight to the next or it will be done by the airline itself?
- I have to decide in between BA and Lufthansa. BA seems to give more baggage allowance than Lufthansa, therefore I am preferring BA.

Please share your views and suggestions on airlines and how to proceed with the online bookings.

Hi Keypad, Baggage transfer is their responsibility you don't need to worry, and would advise to go for 2 hrs. You will reach to the connecting flight within a hour. I followed the same route (virgin atlantic) to NJ with 2 hr stay @ Heathrow and did not see any issue.
Hope this helps..

Thanks for the reply. I have got another query.

I was trying to register with the airline and it requires to add first name and last name. Both of the field are mandatory. On the other hand, I do not have any last name in my passport. The last name field is blank and my full name is written in the first name field, as below:

First Name/ Given Name: AAA BBB CCC
Last Name/ Surname:

Can anyone please suggest how to proceed with online ticket booking? Airline mention that the name on tickets should match with the passport.
