Bringing my wife on open work pemit, while I am on study permit

Hello guys.

I am currently in Canada as an international student. I came here in September and I completed my first semester and I am currently enrolled in second. I have a wife back in my home country. I want to bring her here.
Can anyone tell me if he/she had done this? What papers are needed and how much time will it take to do that?

You can. As an International student that’s the privilege of your immediate family (wife and children) She can apply a TRV or an Open work permit. They will give her a visa the same duration that you have in your student permit. But because of this pandemic the processing time might be a little bit longer than normal and also you might need to ask for travel letter from them as well (exception for reunification ) as I said because of the COVID-19 situation.

When does your study permit expire/is your program one year or two? Apply for a open work permit as a visitor visa is a temporary visit. Processing times are long and she would need written approval to travel too.
