Bringing minor dependents of a Parent with study permit

Hi.

Is there any reason my children having to apply for study permit while I am already applying for myself? CIC clearly states I do not need apply study permit for dependents but our immigration service rep. keeps on telling me there is a risk of my children getting rejected to enter into Canada. So he suggests my two kids also apply for a student permit as well.

What could possibly go wrong when entering in Canada?

Apply TRV for them. They dont need study permit.

Please apply for them the study visa as well cos. In my case I applied for TRV but CIC asked me to apply for my kids separately under study visa category and indicate my UCI number in their application so that it's tied accordingly. They then further withdrew my application and sent me a refund. For my other boy who is below the schooling age, there is no change for him and remains as TRV. My hubby under OWP. We are still waiting for the visa. Applied in April for January intake.
