I am in the process of applying for a work permit, as I just got the LMIA number and so on a week ago. Unfortunately they did not sent it to me earlier, the process took forever. I want to include my spouse in my work permit, that's what I was told by colleagues who applied for the same work permit a year ago. My spouse is 37 years old, academic with a PhD in social science. He is working as a consultant.

He no longer qualifies to accompany you and neither do your children. The rules have changed dramatically from a year ago. He would need to get his own work permit. The kids remain an issue if only for 1 year. How tough the enforcement will be for kids is impossible to predict.

What is your NOC and wage? One year old would not be going to school. Register your 7 year old with local school board and if they want a study permit then apply for one.
so the study permit can be applied for once inside Canada? does it easily get approved or there are chances of refusal?

Yes due to changes in January 2025 Unfortunate that your spouse and child did not apply for SOWP and study permit with your work permit. You’ll need to look up CETA (agreement between Canada and EU) to see if your spouses profession qualifies. How old is your spouse?
I have a question. A relative of mine is going on LMIA to Canada on a close work permit with her 2 kids. Her consultant said one month after her work experience, she can apply to sponsor her husband on work visa. Is he guiding her properly or is there a risk that she will not be able to sponsor her husband afterwards?

Rules have changed and thus enforcement .

The husband could be seen as the tie to return

How long is her WP? As already mentioned what NOC? Do her children have study permits?
