If a mother is coming to Canada on LMIA and her kids ( 1 yr and 7 yrs ) already have visitor visas, will there be any issues when they land in Canada?

Can she apply for her husband's spousal work permit after landing?

The kids will be eventually attending school in Canada.

What is your NOC and wage? One year old would not be going to school. Register your 7 year old with local school board and if they want a study permit then apply for one.

I honestly don’t know.
I will have a temporary work permit for 1 year and leave afterwards. I wan’t to bring my child. We are from Germany. Can I just apply for a normal visitor visa (which should be valid for up to 6 months according to the internet) and then apply for an extension?
What is the difference between TRV and eTA?

Thanks!

How old is child? If your child is a German citizen then visa exempt so needs eTA. That is a separate application and is usually approved within minutes. When child enters if passport is not stamped then can stay up to 6 months. Then extend stay through visitor record. If German, child doesn’t need a TRV.

What type of work permit and NOC? Family members are no longer able to accompany most WP holders these days. Have you secured childcare for the 2 year old? For a 7 year old after school? Will you have the funds to pay for all of this and life in Canada with 1 income or will your husband be also contributing financially from Germany? Are you all German citizens? Will your spouse remain abroad? In most cases they would not qualify for a SOWP.

Are you a consultant? You seem to have many friends with immigration questions all of a sudden.

I have an LMIA for a clinical fellowship at a hospital for 1 year. I do not know the NOC.
My husband wants work and not stay at home for a year. We applied for childcare, but will actually know in spring if and where we will have a space (
We are all German citizens.

Is this last question for me? I am not a consultant.

Thanks again

Your spouse does not qualify for a WP unless he falls under CETA at this point. Depending on his age IEC may be an option. Your children also don’t technically qualify to accompany you either now.

Is this due to the changes made in January 2025? Where can I find specific information on who qualifies for a WP as a family member now? Is this also true, if we just want to stay temporarily? What is IEC and who "falls under CETA"?
I was applying for the fellowship more than a year ago and back then it was allowed to bring your spouse and child (otherwise I will not be able to come) and also that a spouse would also be able to get a WP as far as I understood.

Thank you very much for your help.

Yes due to changes in January 2025 Unfortunate that your spouse and child did not apply for SOWP and study permit with your work permit. You’ll need to look up CETA (agreement between Canada and EU) to see if your spouses profession qualifies. How old is your spouse?
