Bringing dependent child when parents are on temporary visa

Hi everyone

I am on open work permit and my spouse is a student. Has anyone travelled to Canada with baby born outside Canada. I would like to know which category of visa did you apply to bring your baby who is less than a year old. I am not sure if it’s visitor visa which is valid till parents permit. Has anyone faced similar situation like us.

Yes my husband is in Canada and I have valid job in Canada but presently I am not in Canada.

So you need a visitor visa for your child. And they may ask for written authorization to travel for your child depending on the travel restrictions in the coming months (even though it should not be required). You need a recent valid job offer to enter Canada.
