Brief stay after landing

Is there a forum here about staying in Canada for a short time pre-planned after Landing for the first time?

Need to be there before February to beat the deadline in my visa, but I don't want to stay there for the terrible winter. Thus looking forward to going back on Summer...

You could always stay in Vancouver, their winters are pretty mild compared to the rest of Canada ;D I'm pretty sure (although not entirely certain) that you can do a 'soft-landing' (I think that's what the kids are calling it) and stay in Canada for a short period and go back to another country then come back to Canada later.
