When you submit your application, you must provide all supporting documents listed in your document checklist. You must also include a copy of your Acknowledgment of Receipt letter."

The document # i used was from the "worker visa" and not "work permit" and it starts with an "E".

If you look at your worker visa, it will clearly state a document number on the top right corner.

Urgent help needed....

Can spouse apply for BOWP .?? I am principle applicant for PR and I am going to apply for my BOWP. I am not sure how can i extend work permit for spouse. She's having open work permit same as mine.

Please help.

You both can apply together. When you are filling the "Come to Canada" questionaire, don't forget to answer the questions indicating that your wife will be extending her work permit alongside you.

Processing time is currently 41 days. If your WP expires in the duration of waiting to get a decision on extension of your WP, you can stay and work in Canada until the decision is made. This is called "Implied Status"

Note you would only get it once your R10 completeness check is done.
Mine took 73 days since AOR (and my BOWP application was submitted 2 days after my PR applciation).

I submitted my application yesterday and I received letter from CIC which clearly says that
"Bridging open work permit

If you are currently working in Canada on a work permit that is about to expire, and you meet all other
requirements, you may use this letter to apply for a bridging open work permit. For more information, visit our website"

So based on this letter I am going to apply for my BOWP. Please correct me if i misunderstood.

Thanks

You mean you applied for your PR right?
Yeah that's called Acknowledgement of Receipt (AOR) and that is what you need to attach to your BOWP application.
Note you can only apply for your BOWP if your current work permit is expiring in the next 4 months or less
