Hello all,

I submitted my PR application through AAPI in May 2024. I have not received an AOR yet, and my work permit will expire in Feb 2025.

To apply for BOWP, I hear that one needs to choose the "Open Work Permit" when answering the questionnaire to determine what they might be eligible for. However, since I have not received the AOR, I answer "No" to the question "Have you been told by an Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada office that you are approved in principle for permanent residence in Canada?", which causes the system to only show me that I'm eligible for Work Permit.

Could anybody help me with this, please? Would it be safe to answer "Yes" to the question even though it is not true? What should I do here?

Thanks a ton for any input in advance!!

You need to have AOR to apply for BOWP . You can’t apply without it .

Hi ! what did you end up doing?? same situation
Hey.

I called them at 8882422100, and they told me that they had sent me an AOR in Oct, which is very confusing because it did not say "AOR" or "Acknowledgement of receipt" anywhere in the email and had no attachment. It literally only says "This confirms that your application for permanent residence in Canada has been received by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) on [date]" and that was it, so it did not register my head. But apparently this is the AOR that I was waiting for. Hope this helps.
