Hello Guys,

I have applied for Bridge Open Work permit on October 22nd. In "Check Processing Time" section, It is showing a normal processing time of 69 days and CIC officers are working on the file submitted from 21st October 2018. The information was updated on December 30th. It means my application is more than 13 days late today.
Anyone has recommendation to take any steps to speed up the processing time?
Also, everyone is experiencing delay during these days (because of holiday) or I am the specific?

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I had applied on October 17th and it was approved yesterday. It’s taking 80+ days on average. I know it’s hard to wait, but be positive. You will get it!

Hey qsecofr,

Thank you for the response and congratulations on the approval of your work permit.

Please let me know whether it was an extension or just a work permit (like PGWP).

Seeing your approval, I think mine should approve within next 2-3 days.

Thanks! Mine was a bridging WP based on my PR application. I was on a closed WP. So it’s part extension and part new I guess.

Perfect.
Mine too. I had an Open (PGWP) which was expired and based on PR application I have requested for BOWP.
Will post a positive update very soon.

Hi,
Update on my application:
Received Bridge Open Work Permit.
Applied on: October 22nd, 2017
Received on: Jan 18, 2018.

Hi all,

I am an inland Express entry applicant under CEC from QC. My PGWP is expiring soon.

The CIC website says, candidates residing in QC are not eligible for BOWP.

I consulted with a lawyer and they said it is possible. I am confused here. Can I apply for BOWP by residing in Quebec?

Per CIC's rules, you do not qualify for a BOWP. Are you planning on moving out of Quebec soon? Applying through CEC requires you to have plans to live outside of Quebec. If you are living and working in Quebec, at some point CIC will stop the processing of your application and request hard evidence that you have either already left the province or have concrete plans to move. Might make sense to relocate now. That will solve your BOWP problem and also avoid processing issues later.

Thank you scylla for the response.

I am planning to relocate in one month. So should I wait until then to apply for BOWP or can I apply now?
my PGWP is expiring in 3 months from now.
And one more doubt, my wife has an open work permit with the same expiry date. Once i secured a job after studies, I applied for her and she is here. Should I wait for my BOWP to arrive to apply for her OPW or can we both apply together in application?

I applied for Bridge permit on May 27th 2019 and they are currently processing applications received on June 14th.
no update on my Bridge permit. It was LMIA exempt .

Does anyone know what they look for in PR file when they are working on WP extension ?
I applied for my PR jan 11 2019.

I am very worried about my Bridge permit. I applied for it first time in Feb and CIC reached out to me and said I should hv applied on paper and not online. (because I was a temp resident permit holder). Now its been 5 months since I applied again on paper and I havent heard back.

I have had issues with immigration processing my work permits in the past. My anxiety levels are maxed out right now :(
