Breast cancer and admissibility

I just received the medical examination request from CIC. My mother had breast cancer 4-5 years ago and was cured. Do you guys know if it affects her admissibility ? Because our IMM type is non-EDE. I read from the IRPA, Section 38
Health grounds

38. (1) A foreign national is inadmissible on health grounds if their health condition

(a) is likely to be a danger to public health;

(b) is likely to be a danger to public safety; or

(c) might reasonably be expected to cause excessive demand on health or social services.

Do you guys know if my mother's situation might be seen as "cause excessive demand on health or social services"?
I'm really worried about this. Going through a long process, and get to this final stage. Have you guys experienced this situation? Please share

I don't think so. Yes, there's history but it says "their health condition". YOU do not have breast cancer at this very point. If you had it? Maybe.

She is currently taking drugs daily but she has been very healthy for 4-5 years. I'm overloaded with worry about this issue. Will they refuse our PR? How about the dependant child (me - my mother's son). Will they reject my PR too?

How is your mother applying? Is it via spousal sponsorship? Knowing that might help others reply.

I asked because I know the general rules regarding spousal sponsorship.

I do not know the exact answer. But as she has been in remission for some time now, and is not currently requiring more then medication to maintain her health, I can't see why they would refuse her. She is not going to be a burden on the health system as she is in remission (they may take that into consideration though as it could reoccur), she is not contagious, or a health threat to the public.

Have you submitted the application? and if so does your ecas show medicals received?

My suggestion: If you order your GCMS notes (takes 30 days or so to receive them) it will say on the notes under the medical section what the results of the medical are. That will answer it without any more doubt.

Hello there!
Breast cancer is not a communicable disease. It is one of the most common cancers that unfortunately plague our mothers, sister, daughters, wives.
The only reason that she may not be admissible is the last paragraph you mentioned ((c) might reasonably be expected to cause excessive demand on health or social services)
And even that I do not think it is a valid reason for her not to be accepted!
Look on the positive side. Be grateful she is ok now and everything will go well!
