Now, all applicants can take advantage of the easier, faster process by using MPNP Online.

Previously, the Province of Manitoba's online application tool – a secure service managed on the government webserver – was only available to Priority applicants.

For 2013, the cutting-edge tool can also be used by General applicants – skilled workers who have a connection to Manitoba through family, friends, work or school experience but do not meet the program's minimum criteria for language, employability and adaptability. Now, all applicants can take advantage of the easier, faster process by using MPNP Online.

MPNP application processing times

Each year the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program receives thousands of applications. While we still accept applications by mail, processing is much faster when you use MPNP Online.

When you log in, MPNP Online guides you to type in all required information, and shows you how to scan and upload required supporting documents (such as birth certificates and educational records) on which your application is assessed.

That means when you click the Submit button, our office automatically receives a complete application – ready for speedy assessment.

Applying by mail is much slower because our assessment officers must correspond with applicants and/or their representatives and wait for missing, illegible or improper documents, then collate and electronically process documents sent after the application is initially received.

MPNP General stream usually takes within 6-8 months. Family stream around 3-6 mos. Let us just hope it will be faster this time on.

Maybe I am the only applicant who applied in DEC 2010 and still waiting for his LOA after years of waiting.. I hope they'll improve.

I applied through General Stream.

Yes, they are exhausting all means to improve their assessment/approval period, great example is the expansion of their online service to GS. Let us hope for the best. ;D

Thank you Kurtsebastian. I suppose as you rightly pointed out they will improve the processing time now that they accept online application for GS.However, those who have already sent their applications under GS through mail before Dec 2012 should still be given priority processing over the 2013 online applicants. I am not a pre jan 2013 applicant. I am now gathering my docs and trying to finalize the details with my sponsor to submit my application online through the GS.

No problem. Hopefully, they will accomplished all mail applications in timely manner. I believe that they are on August applicants for GS at this moment. For recent online application, i think they are on October. We have noticed that the processing now is getting faster so let us hope it will remain if not surpass it. Goodluck on your application.

Thank you Kurt. I have one small question. I am a bit confused about the sponsors. I will be applying under the GS but I can read on some of the fora in some cases that they are referring to 2 sponsors , one principal and one sub. Do we need 2 sponsors or one ? Thank you.
