I just wonder why do you have to wait for 2 additional years while C24 introduced only one more year.
Anyway, going through many of the posts here, i feel like we are being tortured every day till we get our citizenship. Take it easy guys, I fully understand that getting our citizenship soon is a big relief to all of us but not getting it earlier while intending to stay in Canada is still OK. Just go enjoy your life..there is a lot of fun out there :)
I do enjoy my life, that is the reason that ask myself that did I really want to be a Canadian?
Do I really want to fight the government that truly want me to be part of them or just want my tax money.

The govt works according to their rule of business, not according to somebody's needs or wants. Things will happen in its due course.

Lots of people talks about "our tax money"......

Don't forget in return govt provide you free healthcare, education upto high school and of course child benefits and above all equall opportunity for all.

Some people spread rumours in forum..

Relax, election will come after three years, you will be able to vote.

Enjoy life.. Things will eventually happen.

I think your are not living in BC, MSP is not free, you will need to paid it monthly around $64.
The education and Child benefits, is because our tax and Thank god, I paid my international student tuition fee, and get 15% tax credit.
from your words:"The govt works according to their rule of business, not according to somebody's needs or wants."
Yes I totally agree with you. Government is not work for somebody, but everybody. I should be include in "everybody".
So I have could say the government did not meet my requirement.
Also my point is clear, the government could simply discuss the bill and then tell us, they will pass the bill c6 base on balabalabalabal, or they will refuse the bill c6 because the following reason:1,2,3
but what they do, is skip the bill, avoid to talk about it. did you think "The govt works according to their rule of business"?
In my opinion they are not.

I think they are discussing now about this bill

I would recommend we flood the email of Senators Eaton, Nicole nicole.eaton@sen.parl.gc.ca requesting her to no oppose the bill C-6 and to understand that we're not Canadians of Convenience as she thinks rather future Canadians who want to integrate more in the society.

Second Reading:
2016-09-27 Chamber Sitting: 56
2016-10-25 Chamber Sitting: 65

This page has been updated. But it doesn't seem the second reading is completed yet.
This is getting ridiculous...

I think bothering the conservative Senators is useless. We have to hurry the liberal Senators in my opinion.

That's a good idea.

I would add, we urge the PM to appoint the new 20 Senators.

So, nothing happened today? Did they also postpone?

Yes they did, now it's clear the Liberal who wanted to postpone the discussion as the motion was moved by Senators Jafar and Joyal (Liberals).

Sen. Joyal and Sen. Jaffer are very loyal liberals (both nominated by J. Chretien if I am not mistaken), I don't think they are delaying the Bill to cause harm but maybe because Sen. Omidvar needs more time to finalize the amendments she wants to introduce (like the one regarding the appeal process for revocation cases).

Thank you for the effort to collect this info, if each of us do our part, our voice will be converged and loud enough to be heard by these arrogant senators.

It's taking her so long then!!! the bill arrived the Senate in June 17, 2016, 4+ months now.... that's super long for Sen. Omidvar to prepare.

The good news is, the parties are now cooperating to get the Yazidi girls, I read this as a positive collaboration from the conservatives that the Minister can use as an opportunity to seek their (Conservative) help to push bill C-6 forward.

c-6 is listed as the number 1 in discussion agenda, previously it was usually in the bottom of the agenda. Not sure if this is a good sign, but hopefully it can be moved forward soon.
