Breakdown of common law during permanent residency application

Please help me!

I move d to canada with my boyfriend nearly a year ago, his parent live here. He could not be the principal applicant on the so I became principal applicant on our permanent residence application through provincial nominee skilled work program in saskatchewan.

Now my common law partner wants to end the relationship. He wants to stay in canada and I want to go back to the uk. I would like if he could stay here and work as his parents are here.

The application is still in process but I do not know what to do! I can't stay here alone... All my family are in the uk.. His family live here but I do not not know what will happen if I leave....I don't want him to have to come back to the uk because him and his family paid for our fees and flights here. I just want to leave and start fresh and let him live his life here....please help !

If you leave and withdraw your PR application before it is obtained, and your ex does not qualify to apply himself, I don't know how he can legally stay? I thought the point of PNP is to reside and work in the province that sponsors you. I hope others with more experience in this situation will provide answers for you. All the best.

Originally we're were going to apply through him as main applicant..but I would not have been able to get a work permit because he is a truck driver.

I feel stuck because the whole reason we came here was because his parents are here. He has all the reasons to stay and I have none.

I think that the decision is due to be made around August time. I am so lost I sod not know what I can do. And him coming back to England totally defeats the object of why we split. Since moving here, apparently we have grown apart and do not have anything in common..

You sound very caring. The bottom line is that your Ex wanted to break up so perhaps you need to think about your own needs, return to your family in England and let your Ex stand on his own two feet. As a truck driver he can apply under strategic occupations PNP. Good luck.

If you remain with him on the PNP application after the breakdown of the relationship, you are committing misrepresentation to CIC. If CIC discovers this and decides to pursue it, you and your husband's PRs can be revoked and you could both face bans for two years.

If your relationship has broken down, he needs to apply for PNP by himself. Then you are free to do what you'd like. I know it may be hard because there are still feelings involved, but these are the rules. No more relationship - cannot apply as a couple.
