Break up!

I have a question cause I'm kinda lost!

Me and my girl broke up after a 2 and a half year relationship.. I came from Holland and she lived already in Canada. we both had a solid plan. We become Family and she would sponsor me for Canadian Citizenship. last year we became engaged and everything went well.

My first visit to Canada was for ten days. Then I returned back to Holland. 2 weeks later I returned for 6 months to Canada to actually live with her. after the 6 months I returned back to Holland for 4 weeks to sell my house and some personal belongings. She came to Holland to help me out. And together we returned back to Canada for good. We were living in Barrie.

I knew I could stay again for 6 months.. but the 6 months were over and we were both waiting for the sponsorship..(she still had to sponsor me) But she had no fulltime job.. due the circumstances (relation problems)we ended the relationship and I need a place to stay. A friend of mine offered me a place to stay in Mississauga..

Going back to Holland is no option! I would like to go to Mississauga.. my question is, what are the chances of becoming a Canadian and live here for a long time? I need someone that sponsor em for Canadian Citizenship... solutions?

Hi Fieldmouse
The shortest way to become canadian is to marry your girlfriend and get her to sponsor you.It may take long but you will get it.
So forget about the move to Mississauga and make peace with her . It is very hard to win if you drop your game plan.

I think you mean ,newtone's reply. It is a bit hard to understand his point but I figure he is saying that what would feel if someone wanted to abuse the Dutch Immigration sytem to get citizenship by using a dutch citizen ? You can reply to him directly.
Now my advice was for you to get your girl back.Your game plan was to found a family and get her to sponsor you for citizenship. That's straightforward. You could be succeed even tough there is a waiting period for them to see the marriage is genuine.
What you are trying to achieve now is out of your game plan,it could prove an uphill battle, just get back to the drawing board, you should get a way to apply for PR on your own.

The reason I said that is because your last line kind of sums things up, because you mentioned you need someone to sponsor you for Canadian citizenship. They way you said it makes people think you need anyone who can sponsor you so that you can stay in Canada, this is not the right way to approach Canadian Immigration system. If you are thinking of staying in Canada you can do it for the right reasons and by marrying the right person. Yes if you genuinely want to get back with this girl, sure its fair to approach for marriage but if you are going to do it so that you can stay in Canada thats wrong.

I meant to say is it possible that someone else could sponsor me... I mean do you have to be related or can it also be a good friend or someone you know. And about my relationship, I wasn't looking for a relationship to get sponsored. The whole idea of sponsering me came from my ex-girlfriend. I asked her what is the plan now now were in love? Then we both made a solid plan for our future together... but yeah.. plans can change! so many things changed in our relation. we were engaged...cause we BOTH wanted to get married!

I wasn't playing a game! We became in love after a long time chatting. There was a click and we decided to meet each other... we were both NOT looking for love! actually we both had given UP love... we just wanted to be good friends....but it just happend that we fell in love! without playing games to one another!

Actually, your gf could have sponsored you even though she did not have a job but since she is not your gf any more, I guess that is out. Now you need to find another way to stay. You will have to do one of the following:

1) look for a way to apply for PR yourself, check out http://www.cic.gc.ca/
2) find an employer who is willing to hire you and apply for your LMO for you to get a work permit or apply for your AEO and sponsor you under PNP
3) find another gf and get her to sponsor you

None of this is guaranteed to work instantly so you might have to go back to the Netherlands for a while or you could try some other country for a while.

Yes Fieldmouse
Leon is right ,that is what I meant by going back to the drawing .There should be a way to get PR but bear in mind that the Canada Immigration process requires a lot of patience and endurance. There may be no quick fix. That is why Leon is saying you might have to go back to the Netherlands for some times.
Good luck

There are other ways to get Residence in Canada -- apart from marrying a Canadian. The Canadian Immigration website explains them all.

If you have an employment skill, you might be accepted as a skilled worker (I am unfamiliar with this category, so I won't say anything more on this point).

In light of Holland's cold winters, you might apply as a Refugee. LOL

Good luck.

Of course there are many other ways to get residence in Canada without getting married to a canadian.
The point is he has to take time in finding the appropriate one for him and it is hard to achieve that on a visitor visa.
