Brain and Experienced people HELP ME Please!!!!!

I am new in the forum and I want your explanation of oh Ecas works.

I have requested my husband to be my Representative since he is my sponsor too. I am not able to view the

Sponsorship Application Status option when I log to Ecas with my file number but I only see Permanent Residence Application Status saying that they have received the application of my permanent residence on xxxxx. Now here is my questions:

My husband was approved as Sponsor since November 15, 2013
I did Medical in October 2012
My file was sent to my visa ofice here in Nairobi Kenya
we sent everything even my brand new 5 years passport
We did not know how to check the status on Ecas because we did not know there was one. Now Someone told my husband that he can actually see the where our file is at if he log in Ecas. His time to long on Ecase with His UCI He saw this:

Sponsored Person: my names
Sponsorship Application Status: Decision Made
Permanent Residence Application Status: We have received your Permanent Residence Application September 2012

But I log on my side with the file number they email him about 5 months now I see this:

Applicant: my name
Permanent Residence Application Status: Received

1. Why am I not able to see Sponsorship Application Status option when I log in with the file number/
2. Is it because He is my Representative that He can see that option and not me/
3. Was it supposed to say also like this on His side in stape 1?

Sponsor Person: His names
Sponsorship Application Status: Decision Made
Permanent Residence Application Status: We have received your Permanent Residence Application September 2012


Please Help us, I know there are people who have brain in this forum and I have read so many threads but I did not find one that matched my case.

Make sure you are entering principal applicant information with the application number or file number and sponsor information with the UCI.

I mixed them up at first and it just said it could not identify me or the application.

My brain sometimes lets more out then it retains as for experience.... 8) ??? lol

When He logged with his UCI number he sees this:

Sponsored Person: my names
Sponsorship Application Status: Decision Made
Permanent Residence Application Status: We have received your Permanent Residence Application September 2012

But when I log in with my Fxxxxxxx number I don't see In Process or Decision Made, only the Permanent Residence Application Status: which says they have received my PRAS in September 2012. Will I be able to see Decision Made on Permanent Residence Application Status once they finished processing the Applicant's side?

Ok, I get what you meant now, sorry!

My ecas shows the same thing.
The decision made is for the sponsorship. Your application received is for the principal applicant. Have you received an e-mail or letter? Saying that the sponsor has been approved? It will say under the decision made that they sent a letter.

Yes He received it last year in November 2012 and they mentioned in that letter that the application has been forwarded overseas for final processing but we checked yestareday it says Decesion Made under my name when He log in with his UCI.

I understand what you say MadeInCanada but something that bodering us is why there is no option of seeing Sponsoriship Status when I log in? and why He sees my name and Decision Made under my name unlike me to see it when I log in with my File Number? Is it because I chose him to be Legal Representative in this case? that is what I want to get more clarification if you can. Thank for your comments so far to try to help me.

I think his being your rep only means all communication regarding the application goes to him.

What does it show when you log in with the file number? date CIC got the package, medicals received and decision made?

When I log in with the file number it saw:
Applicant: my name
Permanent Residence Application Status: Application Received
There is no Sponsorship Application Status on my side like He view it on his side under my name.
when I click on the Permanent Residence Application Status it say: We received your application for permanent residence on September 10, 2012.
nothing else. lol

I think the decision made is for the sponsorship. It says pretty much the exact same thing on mine. If I log in with my details (sponsor) it shows date CIC got it, and decision made.

With my husbands details, it says date they got it meds received and so far that's it..... :'(

That is what I am thinking and I told him that since you are my Legal Rep that is why I don't see Sponsorship Application Status. When He log in with his Uci sees this.
Sponsored Person: which is my name
Sponsorship Application Status: Decision Made
Application for Permanent Residecne Status: Application Received and when he clicks on it, he sees the samething I see on my side.

Could this be since his my Lagal Rep?

I am not the legal rep from my husband and mine from the sounds of things is the exact same as yours.

I see! on January 1, 2013 I agreed with him by feeling the forms of Use Of Representative that he will start collecting information on my behalf and on 31st I received an email from my VO saying this:

Good afternoon,



FILE NUMBER: Fxxxxxxxxxxx NAME: My Name



Your address has been updated. Your spouse as your sponsor has the legal right to receive information on your behalf.
