Hey Everyone..!!

I've applied for PR adding my spouse to my file in AU 2014. The status of my file is still "In Process". I received my AOR in Jan 2015. And my file was started to be processed by CIC on Jan 28,2015.
My PGWP and my spouse's work permit expire in FEB 2015.
I waited untill this month and in next month OC 2015, I am planning to apply for BOWP.
I am on this link to apply for BOWP. I hope I am on the right track..!! Please confirm it for me..!! Thanks..!!

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/extend-worker.asp

So now my que are;

1) Do me and my spouse both will have to apply for BOWP?? separate applications for both of us ???

2) In the document checklist for BOWP they ask for,
"Offer of Employment to a Foreign National Exempt for LMIA-IMM 5802"
What is this?? Why would they ask this for?? How can I get it?
Is there any way that I can skip this? by any possible way?? (because in one of the threads I read that the person gave an explanation of why he cant provide this. and he got his BOWP. So what probable explanation can anyone give if he/she wants to skip this IMM 5802-Offer of Employment???
"Copy of LMIA"
what is this?? it says 'if applicable'. so should I provide this or not..!!!
"Copy of your job offer letter"
Can I submit the one which I got in 2014?? or do I have to get the new one?? what it should include any idea??
also I might change my current job very soon. So do I have to provide the offer letter from both of the employers??
"Photocopy of valid return ticket"
Why this??? should I have to provide this too..!!!!!

2) I was thinking if ,God for bit, we dont get our new work permits (looking at the process speed..! right now these snails are processing BOWP files of month MAY-JUNE !!!) even by the end of FEB 2015(current wp expires) then can I move temporarily to US for some time and then come back when we get our applied BOWP approved..??? The problem here is mine and my souse's TRVs are also getting expired in FEB 2015. So will we be able to enter Canada from US???

Also I wanted to ask one more thing. My spouse has applied for renewal of his passport. How should I inform CIC about it after he receives his new passport??

I know too many questions..!!
I am sorry for that..!! :-[

Thanks much for all the answers..!!

Yes, that is right.

Yes, they are separate applications, but you can submit them together. If you do the online eligibility questionnaire, it will ask you if you also want to apply for your spouse.

BTW - only you (the principal applicant) are eligible for the BOWP. Your spouse would be eligible for another SOWP based on your BOWP.

Because this form is for ALL work permit extensions, not just for BOWPs. And it has never been adequately updated to suit the BOWP (the online version is a little better than the paper version). Rest assured, you do not need this - you can write in "not applicable."

and he got his BOWP. So what probable explanation can anyone give if he/she wants to skip this IMM 5802-Offer of Employment???
It is simply not applicable to BOWP applicants. Instead, you need to explain that you have applied for permanent residence under the CEC class, that you have received the "Acknowledgement of receipt" (best to include a copy of that), and that your application is in process,

"Copy of LMIA"
what is this?? it says 'if applicable'. so should I provide this or not..!!!

It is not applicable.

"Copy of your job offer letter"
Not applicable.

2) even by the end of FEB 2015(current wp expires) then can I move temporarily to US for some time and then come back when we get our applied BOWP approved..???

Yes, you can (assuming you are permitted to enter the US), but you don't have to leave. If you apply to renew your work permit before the old one expires, and you have not received a response by the time the old permit expires, you can remain in Canada on "implied status" (under the same terms as the expired work permit) until you get a response. However, you loose your implied status if you leave Canada.

The problem here is mine and my souse's TRVs are also getting expired in FEB 2015. So will we be able to enter Canada from US???
By land, yes. Not by air.

Also I wanted to ask one more thing. My spouse has applied for renewal of his passport. How should I inform CIC about it after he receives his new passport??
You can scan and send it by email attachment to CPC-Ottawa - see here -

Ok so one more and may b last one is,
How should I apply for BOWP? Cuz u said my spouse is not allowed to have one right?
So should I apply it online declaring that my spouse on my dependance? The same as PR file. I am being the pronciple app and spouse dependent so we both will get PR at the end. So in this case both of us will get WP at the end.
Or we should do two separate paper applications for both of us?
Which is better online or paper??

Thanks much for your response..!!
Sorry to bother..!!

Thanks..!

Your spouse needs to submit a separate application for an open work permit, same as the one he had before (spouse/dependent). But you can submit them together at the same time.

I would check on processing times - online has taken longer recently, but if there is no huge difference, I would recommend the online version -
