Honestly no idea. Give CIC a call and ask or just do it separately to be safe.

I applied for BOWP but before they opened the file my PR came through. So I called CIC as I need a BOWP refund too.

The agent said that when they open my file, they will see against my UCI that I am now a PR and do not need an extension. Then they will refund the money back to me. It will take 8 to 16 weeks from that time to get the money back.

I hope this info helps.

It does, thank You so much!

Anyone got a refund for their BOWP?

I received an email on Sep 1st
"Please be advised that your request has been received and reviewed. Your application has been withdrawn, and the refund has been initiated."

No refund yet.

I have done landed 3 weeks ago but my BOWP status still in Process.
How to get refund? Can I call CIC agent to cancel it or just wait for Automatically refund?

I have landed yesterday with 2 dependents in my family. Our application of bowp and visitor visa is still under processing. Can I request to withdraw and refund? If CSE, should I make one or three request?

17th Jan 2016, I have made CSE to cancel our work permit applications today. Let's see whether I get refund.

I got a confirmation mail stating that the application and all dependent's application will be cancelled next time when VO opens my file. And it will take 16 weeks to refund.

Is it better to call and confirm with CIC that they are cancelling BOWP without harming the PR application which is already approved?

I don't think so, if it's approved and you already landed nothing is gonna change.

I withdraw my BOWP as you did, but I didn't landed yet, I was confident them are cancelling my BOWP application not my PR, now I would like to check it...

Thanks Gregor. Let me wait this week.

I got my refund on Feb 22 for withdrawing the BOWP application. Thanks.

Hello Guys, I have a question. When can I ask refund from BOWP? After getting the "Confirmation of PR" or after finishing the landing part? Thank you for help!

I did it after COPR, but you can wait until landing if it's not too much time.

I would like to avoid VO opens BOWP application and start processing it.

Thank you for your suggestion! I have to report after CORP. Because I can not landing within one month. So I need to inform VO to avoid in processing my BOWP application.

Do I need to follow this instruction?

You may request a refund in one of the following three ways:

E-mail (CIC preferred): IPRMS-SIGPR@cic.gc.ca
Mail: IPRMS Refunds, 365 Laurier Avenue West, Ottawa, ON, K1A 1L1
Fax: 819-953-1377
Your request must include the following information:

Your name;
Your current address;
Scanned copy of the receipt or the receipt number;
Date of payment;
Total payment amount;
Reason for refund request; and
If you cannot provide the receipt number, include: the first two and the last four numbers of the credit card used for payment, the card expiration date, and the cardholder’s name.
