Hi i am waiting for COPR. I have a closed work permit that expires on 9th December 2021. My question is that can I apply for a BOWP today (As on today my wp is valid not more than 5months) that is valid from 10 august 2021 (validity of my current work permit will be less than 4 months on 10th August) @legalfalcon sir please guise

Yes I got my AOR on 4th March

My only worry is that that the validity of my current wp is more than 5 months but I am saying that in the application I am requesting for a bowp to be starting from 10 August

Thank you for the response. Still not clear that can I apply for the bowp now my closed wp is valid for 5 months but I am requesting the wp to be valid from 10 th August when my wp will be less than4 months valid. The 4 months mark is from the date when you apply or from the date you want the bowp to start. Sorry for bothering you again mate. Asking these questions since I am in a difficult position

Well, you have a valid work permit that expires on December 9th, right? And you have already got your AOR, then you will be able to apply after August 9th or 10th (not so sure about which one of these to dates). I don't see what the puzzling part is here, sorry.

I am trying to apply tomorrow but I am writing the start date of the bowp from 10 August

The four months mark is to count four months back from the date your current WP's expire date, if that helps.

You can't apply until August. It won't work to put a future dated start date. It's the application date that matters.

No,don't do that. Doing this will get you a refusal. You can only apply after August 9th.
