I'm a Provincial Nominee whose PR application was received by CIC in January. With my post graduate work permit expiring soon, I recently applied for my BWOP online and was notified today that the application was approved. It took 10 days for the application to be processed. This post is to share a little bit of my experience with the same.

Firstly, read the Operational Bulletin 485 - A
Make sure to review if you meet all the eligibility criteria. Especially with the criteria for positive eligibility decision. In my case I had received an AOR and that counted as a positive eligibility decision.

Secondly, the application can be made online. I spent some time stressing about this because a support rep from CIC had told me that the application cannot be made online. However in the end I decided to go ahead with the online application. In the questionnaire I mentioned I wanted to work in Canada but also wanted move to Canada permanently. So after some questions around whether or not I had applied for a PR, it took me to the work permit extension options and I chose the one at the bottom for Open Work permit.

I had to fill out the application for extension of stay and in that I mentioned I was applying for extension of work permit for new employer. Also refer to this post for some more helpful tips on filling it out - canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/tips-for-a-successful-bowp-application-t147650.

The checklist also asked for proof of medical exams but since my medical exam results had been uploaded online, I simply scanned and uploaded the receipts and mentioned the substitution in the explanation letter. I also uploaded my AOR email copy with the explanation letter as proof. In the explanation letter I mentioned the Operational Bulletin and also outlined how I met all the criteria.

Hope this helps someone in a similar position.
