It has been so quite since last few days.
Is it the lull before the storm of approvals?

Any more good news fellas?

Hi Guys,

Yesterday I received my BOWP, but the date on BOWP is incorrect. Issue Date 07-May-2015 and expiry 05-May-2015--->(here should be 2016) they misprinted instead of 2016 to 2015. Also important thing in bottom of BOWP where the notes written the date is correct. It Says you must leave Canada before 05-May-2016.

Question # 1: What do I need to do ? should I request for NEW BOWP ? or its a small mistake because it also does not make sense that expiry date is before issuing date. ? Please advise.

Question # 2: I have plan to go back home on vacations so I need Visa, now I need to send this BOWP copy to CIC for Visa stamping, so this will create problem for Visa ? Please advise.

Question # 3: My PR file is in second review, did not got any response from CIC. I want to marry is it good to add my spouse in PR ? Please advise.

I would really appreciate your response. Thank you in Advance

I got my Bowp approved today. Applied March 6th..also got a request to pay $100 for my spouse.

Hi Omni

Do we need to pay extra $100 for both spouse and primary applicant? In my and my spouse's case, we paid $155x2 plus $100x1 (in one application)

If yes, how did CIC ask you to pay the extra $100 and how much extra time does it take for Spouse BOWP to get approved?

We are 17th March applicant (online) and will try pay $100 (if required) before they ask for it, if we can

Thanks

I Just received this email.

Does this mean my application has been rejected??

This letter refers to your application for a Work Permit.
[X] There is no processing fee for your application. A refund for the overpayment of $100.00
has been submitted on your behalf. This refund will be issued in the near future. If you have
made your payment online your refund will be reimbursed directly to your credit card. Please
note that if another person has paid the fee on your behalf, the refund will be issued to that
person.
If you require any further extension of your status, you should submit an application to this office
at least one month prior to the expiry of your new document(s).

I got this letter and the day after got refusal letters saying the BOWP applications for myself and my husband had been declined. We had paid 2x $155 application fees, plus 1 x $100 for the open work holder fee. I looked into it and in the event the application is refused, they will refund the open work holder fee but not the application / processing fee. Hope this doesn't turn out to be the case for you, but thought I'd mention it.... We requested reconsideration of the decision to refuse as it seems to be a mistake on CIC's part.

Emma_h_s,

I really hope that isn't the case. Thanks for letting me know.

Kimchill,

No news just yet. Hopefully I hear something today. The second I do I will let you all know.

Thanks :-)

Hi Guys,

I applied BOWP on Mar 11th , it is approved in May 11th and checked in online it says your application has been approved with validity date (31 - july-2015). My previous closed WP expiry date is 31 - July-2015.

* I didnt receive my BOWP Hardcopy yet. It is strange to me , why in new BOWP the validity date shows as 31 - july-2015 ( is it printing mistake 2015 instead of 2016).

Looks like CIC is messing up the Validity date big time. One of my friends also got similar problem and he had to follow up to get it corrected. I see that someone else also faced a similar problem like yours.
Not sure but my guess is you have to wait for your hard copy to get it amended
