An update for those of you keeping an eye on processing times (although not that positive).

I applied for a BOWP online on March 2nd. I heard yesterday from my MP (through their CIC contact - its a long story) that my BOWP was refused on March 5th. Notification in the mail, but I confirmed the status with the CIC call centre today. The status on My CIC is still unchanged (open / decision not started).

The visa officer has been asked to reconsider as it seems to be a technical glitch - for some reason they weren't able to see my PR application and AOR (which is actually from CEC via express entry - I'm gate crashing this forum). Good luck to everyone else waiting.

Hello guys, can u please tell me what is the paper application processing time for March applicants?? Is there a big difference between online and paper onces??

Processing time as of 1 May update had come down to 64 days.

As I have suggested it has come down and in my opinion it is well below 60 days at present as the last update is a week old.

In today's world and in our first world Canada it amazes me how long thing take - even to update a website!!!!

I believe CIC is processing mid-March application at present. This is based upon the following:

At the 24 April Update Page it was stated they were processing 14 February applications
At the 1 May Update Page it is stated they are processing 25 February applications

So now, on 8 May, it is very likely it has moved to second week of March.

Perhaps. But there seems to be little movement in terms of approvals, atleast on this forum. The last was that someone from March 2 got it, right?

Perhaps there is not many March applicants on this forum.

I don't think this will work as I applied on 10 March and the last 4 digits for mine is 1812, I don't think there would be so many applications

I applied on 3rd March and WP got approved on 1st May. So processing time for me was little under 60 days.

So, big question. I applied online!! Is that a big no no?? I am reading some comments about how the call centre tells people to apply by paper. Is there any one else who applied online here? How does that affect the processing time?

I applied Online. Its easy (eg. photo scan vs having to attach multiple photos with paper application) and faster.
Processing time used to be 20days, but now its ~68 days but still better than paper appln processing time which is over 75 days.
Also if they need any document you can upload it immediately as against mailing them and causing delays.
