open bridge work permit and cec situation

Hello

I have applied for CEC in april 28,2014. I have got my file number in june 2014.

But until now I have not received anything from cic.
My work permit expires in coming june 2015.

I am not working with the same employer now. I have job letter from them. So in this case how should I apply for the open bridge work permit.

Until what time should I put my extension in my work permit. I mean by until which year?

The fact that you are not working with the same employer anymore doesn't matter (I wasn't working for the same employer when I applied either). Take a look at the answer that I gave to Ahir Priyank yesterday -- you have similar cases. You have to fulfill all those requisites. That's all that matter.

And yes, I believe you should apply for a BOWP. You can attach a letter of explanation on the application. Use this letter to explain your situation to the Officer if you like, but that's irrelevant. Again, take a look at the requisites I quoted yesterday.

" Itinerary Travel document ". (Its Mandatory).

So, I have an update regarding my BOWP. I called CIC today to know my application update. And at night, I received a message in my CIC account.
I have been asked for my MR (IMM1017E) and the submission deadline is within 30 days. I guess this will be considered as my upfront PR MR.

Btw, I am Jan 15 BOWP applicant.

Still no update, I applied for Open work permit dated 07th Jan 2015 now as per CIC website they are processing 9th Jan Files. I called them couple of times but call center executive is saying they have mailed to CIC team & nothing much can be done from there side. Any suggestion or expert advise.

why would they ask for MR for a BOWP? Have you stayed in any of the designated countries for more than 6 months in the past 1 year?

I guess you just need to wait. There must be something they are checking on your application. As long as your mycic remains open, it is alright. Have a little more patience.

Hi Ganges,
Before my last entry to Canada, I stayed in Texas for few days. Right after I left, there was Ebola outbreak there. Moreover, Canada itself was my visiting country only. Right after my entry, I applied for my PR & eventually received AOR before completing my six months here. So, I applied for my BOWP (instead of my trv extension) with an explanation letter why they should give me BOWP .

So, I am glad they have asked me for my MR.

CIC increased WP processing time to 48 days. Maybe it is related to the new WP rules which are in force since Feb 21, as CIC need to implement some internal changes to the process.
