Hi there,

I electronically filed a OWP in the end of March. In the letter of explanation, I indicated that I have applied PR and received an AOR. I referenced my PR application number which was given in the AOR email. BUT I did not include the copy of the AOR email... :'(

I really dunno why I didn't include the copy of AOR... I thought my PR application number was good enough...:( After all, they won't give you your PR application number unless you passed the first stage, correct?

Does anyone know if I can send an email to CIC now with AOR?????
My current WP has just expired a few days ago and cannot reapply for BOWP at this point...

Did you answer your questions that you applied for PR from canada, received a positive response from CIC?

To my understanding you should be fine about the AOR. They will have that record in their file against your UCI.

I did answer these questions. You cannot really apply unless you do the quiz.

I just read a thread and learned that someone with AOR holder was rejected and he/she did not include the AOR email.
I guess that person had the same understanding as well.

Hi,

I think if you have written letter of explanation along with AOR number , i think it should be OK.

Also, as i read from some other members in the forum, they have asked additional documents when necessary before coming to decision.

Regards,
M

See this link: They have asked for additional document when required.

Hope for the best

That's one of the reasons why I prefer to do my application by paper, even if the process is going to take a bit longer . I can print everything out and lay it flat on the table to check and look clearly (and I do it at least 2-3 times), something that I can't do if I apply online. ;)

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Attaching AOR is not required, but is an additional safety measure. The reason being some of the other applicants had trouble getting their BOWP but in all cases that I've seen so far there have been other circumstances:

* Forgot to mention OWP
* Forgot to mention the reason they are eligible (i.e. AOR)
* Indicated a specific employer, that section should be left empty, this is an open work permit after all
...

If you haven't done any of those things, as soon as the case officer sees your letter and mention of AOR, accessing your AOR along with any other immigration information is just a click away.

I totally agree with you! I used to do everything by paper. It just the last time I renewed my WP by paper, it took me almost 5 months as opposed to 2 months by electronic... lol I think I will email the doc to question@cic.gc.ca.

And congrats on your OWP!!!

Hi thisisauser,

* Forgot to mention OWP
* Forgot to mention the reason they are eligible (i.e. AOR)
* Indicated a specific employer, that section should be left empty, this is an open work permit after all

I did all of these on my application.
I just wanted to be extra sure as I will be out of options IF my OWP gets rejected for missing that email.
