BOWP - How many of you have applied and received it successfully?

Experts please suggest which would be the best option..

I applied under CEC on 9th Oct 2014 and waiting for AOR to apply for BOWP. My current work permit is expiring on 7th feb 2015, on seeing the current timeline i may not receive AOR until end of Feb 2015. I have below queries to my situation:

1. Once my DD is charged can i apply BOWP online in mid of Jan itself as i see some ppl get BOWP approved before they get AOR(CC/DD already charged)?
2. or shall i wait till 5th Feb and apply paper application?

I got mine about 3-5 days after the online WP!

They don't send these documents via registered mail unfortunately just regular mail in a brown envelope.

If you applied online, log into the MyCIC account you used to apply and check the status. If you applied by mail, there is no way.

Not always status updated in online. I called CIC and came to know it has been approved on dec 31, but online status still shows Open. It's better to call CIC if the # of processing days passed.

I hear some people say we can work only if you apply BOWP via paper.
but as per my understanding even if we apply for BOWP online we can continue our current job.

YOU CAN CONTINUE WORKING FOR WITH SAME PERMIT UNTILL YOU GOT APPROVED..MAKE SURE CURRENT PERMIT WONT EXPIRE

You can continue working on your expired WP till you get new WP. Thats called implied status .you can continue what ever u r dng till u heard anything about ur new WP

i applied on dec 7 and today saw an email from CIC.. went into my CIC account to find nothing.. but i did notice application status is now "Open"

some times you will get tose emails if you apply online i had that when i applied for my bowp..but orginal mail will come only when the processing time reaches
