Yes i saw that but my situation is rather dire and i need one as soon as possible i didn't over look that statement its just a tight spot i have been put in at the moment

Apply paper based BOWP a day before your work permit expires.. by the time they start processing your BOWP application if your AOR is on their record then they will issue u the work permit.. even if u do not have an AOR at the time of applying for BOWP.. i did the same and my BOWP was approved.

I applied for CEC on february 2014 , so I am expecting answer for CIC very soon , so I was thinking to apply for the second time to BOWP just in case I get my application rejected , If I do apply before getting recjected i might get another year of work permit . I don;t know if u see my point ?? do you anybody who applied for it with more than 4 month left in his work permit ?? sorry for my English .

Got the confirmation of approval of BOWP through email yesterday Dec 27,2014. Application date was 17 Nov,2014.

My BOWP and my husband's SOWP are officially approved as of today. We applied on the evening of Nov 18, but it said it was 'received' on Nov 19.

The status changed to approved at around 9:50am MT this morning (I was refreshing the site when it changed).

After the refusal scare we had yesterday (they mistakenly refused my husband's application, then sent a letter saying it was an error) this is much relief to both of us.

Good luck to everyone else waiting for theirs.

After looking at the above post from @ joolery, I checked my application status online and it says Approved. I applied on November 19. Also this is my second BOWP.

Everyone else will get it soon. I wish everyone good luck.

Hello Friends , i applied for work permit extension- online through immigration consultant on Nov 10 ,but still waiting for CIC response , my consultant went out of Canada and will come back after 2 week. Could you please guide me how can i confirm the status of my application from CIC call center as i don't have any acknowledgement email or file number and it is more than 50 days.

Does CIC sent an file number or acknowledgment of my online application to immigration consultant ? also how can i setup my CIC account to check my application status.

I called CIC @ 1 888 242 2100 just now and heard from call center officer that my BOWP has been approved and they will forward it for printing.

How long will it take to receive the copy of WP in mail?

Just received my 'In Canada Approval Letter'. For those of you wondering (I know it has been posted here before) it says:

Your application to remain in Canada as a temporary resident has been approved. A secure document has
been mailed to you at the address that you provided when you made your application. If you have not received
your secure document within six weeks, contact CIC.

Permit - WP-EXT

This letter is not valid for travel and is not a permit allowing you to remain in Canada.

Experts please suggest which would be the best option..

I applied under CEC on 9th Oct 2014 and waiting for AOR to apply for BOWP. My current work permit is expiring on 7th feb 2015, on seeing the current timeline i may not receive AOR until end of Feb 2015. I have below queries to my situation:

1. Once my DD is charged can i apply BOWP online in mid of Jan itself as i see some ppl get BOWP approved before they get AOR(CC/DD already charged)?
2. or shall i wait till 5th Feb and apply paper application?
