BOWP - How many of you have applied and received it successfully?

Hi all. I submitted my application online around 20 days ago at the end of Oct and their site says the processing time has down to 7 days and they are working on applications submitted on Nov 7...


However I have not received any messages from cic yet. Should I give them a call..?

Yes.. Pls call them...It is pain as they will disconnect your phone for 4/5 times. If you make a note to your application through CIC call Centre, you will heard something about your WP in 2 days...

After 1 hour of trying finally made it through to an agent. She said my work permit has been just mailed out today.. Thank god that's a relief!

Don't they send approval emails now a days ? I thought they always send approval emails first and then send the Work Permits.

I didn't get any approval email. The first I knew I was approved was finding the permit in my mailbox. I surmised that they only send an email in cases of refusal.

Interesting, one of the September applicants got an approval email and then the actual WP in the mail.
That's what I've heard from quite a few applicants now.
Maybe the email went to your spam folder? Or maybe a typo in the email address on the form?

I applied for BOWP on Nov. 19th.
And
I just saw the processing time for work permits was down to 7 days from 18 days.
Here is my question. What is the new temporary resident visa? Is it related to BOWP?
BOWP takes only 7days to be issued? or 13days?

That's what I've heard from quite a few applicants now.
Maybe the email went to your spam folder? Or maybe a typo in the email address on the form?

Perhaps mailbox or spam folder should be checked for mail from MyCIC? Also, logging into MyCIC might work as well

Are you talking about the option on the "Application to Change Conditions..." (IMM5710) form for a temporary resident permit?

This is for people who require a TRV to enter Canada. For instance, I didn't select this option as my country of origin is visa-exempt.

I haven't seen a satisfactory answer about why the estimate doesn't match the "Working on applications submitted on" date, but keep in mind that these are both just an approximation of how long your application will take to process.

That also confuses me.. I did not get any emails so I figured something was going wrong.
However I did get the email for my AOR from cic. And I am pretty sure I did put the correct email address when I submitted my BOWP application.
