BOWP - How many of you have applied and received it successfully?

Just called CIC and found that my BOWP is approved n mailed to my address. I applied online on 1 st april. Hopefully I will get paper in hand before weekend.

Hello all, Sorry if following questions are repeated your advice will be much appreciated.

Does anyone know if UNK or UN codes for Destination/Province are present in paper based and/or online form? I could not find it.
Also do we leave the intended employment field blank? Ques 2 to 7 ?

I already got my medical and I am completing it next week and RRPF is done. My WP is expiring in 3 months. I still want to apply for BOWP since I don’t want to take a chance for being implied status while landing and for my employment as well.

Just submitted my online application for BOWP without AOR

Current OWP expires May 26 (in 11 days) and its unlikely my AOR will come in before that.
Attached Explanatory letter, OB 485, Current OWP, and also offer letter even though it is an OWP. Want to prove I have a good job and can maintain myself.

Yes i did. And I selected "A work permit with new employer" as the online version wont allow you to select two options.

I have the similar doubt, what did you do for this?
I selected my current province and current city. I could not see UNK and Unknown in the list. the other option would be leave them blank and after taking printout write manually.. But then the scan code which is generated automatically will not have that detail I guess!!

For question 2, I put 'BOWP Application - Not Applicable" as per http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/tips-for-a-successful-bowp-application-and-advise-t147650.0.html.

Also I filled my current job title etc.

Please let me know your comments.

Kind of regret now that I didn't include my job contract after reading your message above. I thought about including it but was afraid they'd somehow mistake it for a closed wp after all.

Hello,

I had left the city and province blank in the application. However, if you read the bulletin, setting of UNK is done when issuing the work permit - I presume this is the responsibility of the officer issuing work permit.

A friend of mine had mentioned employment location as Calgary - bowp was issued with city name as Calgary! However, she got the issue corrected by submitting a correction request - she was issued a new work permit with city as UNK.

General suggestion:
I would suggest to include an explanation letter and copy of your AOR( if you have) along with the bowp application. If you don't have AOR and if you're expecting to get the AOR while the application is in process, make sure you fax / mail them the letter when you receive the AOR.

I see today that the OWP processing times has gone down to 35 days and they are currently working on applications from April 4!!

Lets hope for a speedy successful processing of our BOWPs, and setting a precedent of applying without the AOR!

LCM21 - I am also the same my work permit runs out the same day I can apply for CEC so im sending of for my BOWP without AOR fingers crossed!!
What did you write in your letter as thats the only part I have left left to do but unsure as to what to put?
