BOWP - How many of you have applied and received it successfully?

I just received another 'Your application has been updated' email with no update visible on MyCIC. This time it was only for my Spouse's application and not mine.

Anyone else getting these emails in the past week?

My application was received online on November 4th, I applied on the 3rd in the evening. Still waiting for mine.

CIC just updated the processing times, 40 days for online.

My BOWP application is approved yesterday and the online application is received on November 4th.

The online message shows that: Your application to remain in Canada as a temporary resident has been approved. I'm a bit confused about that. Why does it say temporary resident? Does anyone else experience the same?

Because BOWP is considered a "temporary resident" work permit.

1) What is the process to get application back if its submitted through myCIC
2) Will the application of 150$ will be refunded in case of application withdrawal

My Work permit is going to expire on December 20, 2014. I'm thinking to apply for BOWP but confused that should I submit an online application or paper application? As currently I see processing time as 40 days for work permits, what do you guys suggest? Appreciate your help.

Hi,
If you have AOR then apply it online for BOWP (I know it is taking time these days but you never know after new year they will speed up the process), else file as paper application.
After applying you can work on implied status.

Agree with this option completely.. also just to be safe wait till 18-19th Dec and apply on 19th paper based application.. the later you apply... and the longer it takes to approve BOWP.. the longer time u will have on implied and BOWP combined.

if I wait till 19th and apply on that day, is that fine? I'm guessing CIC should have application reached to them before work permit expires? also as I don't have an AOR do I need to explain it in explanation letter?

Also if I receive AOR after submitting paper application, can I cancel the paper application and submit an online application?

It is kinda grey area.. i sent in my BOWP application on 19th and my PGWP expired on 20th... my application reached on 22nd i think.. but i got my BOWP approved after a few..

You can apply both paper and online.. but i suggest just apply paper.. as long as there r no issues with your forms you should be fine.. if you like you can even apply early.. so even if u hv multiple applications it is fine.. the latter one will be cancelled once your BOWP is approved.
