Elena see "Backendcode" in this thread he applied on April 29 and already approved on Aug 18.
You should call cic as this seems odd.

I have question here

I also applied 17th May meanwhile I am looking for new job.

Some people say that, I can still find job without work permit( implied status)

BUT I guess employer does not want to hire new employee who does not have work permit

and some employers even do not know what implied status means.

I do not like current job now, but I think it is best to wait until I get extension work permit although I do not know when I can receive it....

Honestly speaking no one is going to hire you if you in Implied state but in my case I starting searching job when I was in Implied state, there is no harm since you are not going to hit bulls eye in your first interview...It takes time to get right job & hopefully by the time you will get your BOWP. BOWP approved yesterday. Applied April 22nd so close enough to 4 months for processing!

my application for BOWP was received on may 19(paper based). BWOP Approved aug 19th. my employer was requesting for proof that i applied for extension and i threw out my tracking number receipt from canada post. proof of payment wasn't sufficient. so my hr consultant asked me to call them and i got no answer from. but today i called them today requesting my status with my hr consultant, agent initially refused to provide any information stating they don't have access to application but after my hr consultant insisted for something, she was able t check and tell us that work permit got approved and sent out on aug 19th. will receive it in 5 days. them stating they don't have access to information is BS

this is very surprising, I applied on line since this is supposed to received earlier than paper entry....

but now this makes it huge differences now.

Finally - was notified in myCIC today that the work permit is approved. Applied online on may 7th, now waiting that the paper copy will arrive. Good luck to all the other folks who are still waiting!

ycongrats .how you notified ?did you receive email or just open my cic?!?

I got an email that there was a new message in the myCIC account (applied online). I assume if you've applied by paper, then you just have to wait until the work permit arrives in the snail mail and then you know.
