Bound or unbound translated documents

Hey, I just got my translated pcc and document of name change back from the translator.
The checklist says the following

Attach small items such as photos and certified cheques with a paper clip, otherwise leave documents unbound.

However, my translator stapled the original document and translated version together. Am I supposed to leave it like that,
or separate the two?

Also, after I mailed my documents off to the translator I read that I need a certified true copy of the documents too, got that
today but the lawyer made his own copy and certified it.

So now I have the following documents:

- Certified true copy from original document certified by a lawyer
- Original document with seal from translator on it
- Certified true translation from translator with seal on it

Do you think I should be ok submitting those 3 papers together or should I go back to my translator with the
new certified true copy and have that one translated again so I cut it down to 2 papers?


Geeee it's a mess... haha. Hope someone can shed light on it...

leave the documents in the way the translator gave it to you (bound)so cic knows the translation has not been modified by you. You need to send a certified copy from the original with the translation, as the one the translator had could or could not be certified

Thanks a ton man!! So I just send all the docs along with my application, better to send more then miss documents, I guess.

Agreed! I had one of my documents translated by a certified court translator at home...and their procedure is to bind the documents with special seals and strings. Just leave them like that. CIC accepted mine, so you should be fine.

Ya, it's just that I got it translated before I had a certified copy. So the copy stapled together with the
certified translation is not certified.
I have a second copy, which I had certified by a laywer. Whatever, I'll just submit it all together
