Born in Canada

I'm an Australian resident and will be applying for the skilled workers PR visa later this year. My wife was born in Canada and moved to Australia when she was 4 and has duel citizenship. My question is, if she is still a Canadian Citizen does she have to apply for anything or will she be able to arrive with me as a Canadian and apply for Jobs etc. And what about our 3 kids. What do we have to do for them?

If your wife was born in Canada then she is still a citizen. Your children are citizens too but will have to apply for proof of citizenship in order to move to Canada permanently.

You may find it easier to have your wife sponsor you for PR as her spouse rather than applying as a skilled worker.

I'm a qualified accountant and my wife does not currently work. How would we justify the financially support criteria. I thought it would be easier for me to get the skilled work visa as she may not be looking for work straight away. I also thought (probably wrong on this one) that potential employers would prefer a skilled worker visa than a spouse sponsored one?

There are no financial requirements to sponsor a spouse.

Once you have PR - you have PR - period. It doesn't matter whether you received it via family class or skilled worker - it all looks the same. An employer won't know the difference.

I have just read that she would have to provide evidence that she will live in Canada when I become a PR. What would be a typical form of evidence that says she will live in Canada. We were going to sort out housing, jobs, schooling etc after I got my PR, but it seems that we would need to commit to something first to comply for the evidence.
