Born in Canada Vs. Born in XXX

Hello Guys;
If we are Permenant Resident of Canada, What could be the advantages of having a baby born in Canada? Does it make any difference? please share your experience.

That is true Scylla. But still it is possible to apply for the new baby and get him/her with us. This application as far as I know doesn’t take much time. I can understand the fact that citizenship by birth Vs by Immigration. Do you or others have other advantages? Please explain. Any input from others is appreciated.

HI,

The baby is Canadian Citizen by birth whereas the parents being PR, have to wait to meet the requirements as specified in the CIC rules. Then complete the formalities to obtain Canadian citizenship.

If the parents want to visit USA or Europe, the baby can get the benefit of a visa exempted country being the Canadian citizen .
Any other benefits are equal for those children born outside Canada and sponsored for PR.

What everyone said is true but remembers that grandchildren of a PR are not granted PR automatically
If children of a PR born outside Canada and Grand children are also born outside Canada they don’t become citizen they lose the PR status.
So if children are born in Canada chain are broken and grand children can become citizen even if they are borne outside Canada.
