I've only been across the border a couple of times to the US and my Canadian bf got more questioning than I did. Infact the last time I went through my officer asked me if my Timmies was for him, laughed and then carried on chatting to his mate who was stood behind him on the next counter. Whereas my bf got "where are you going", "how long you going for" etc. etc. Then when I went to pay my $6 fee the officer looked at where I was from in England and started talking to me about his family who live nearby. Really nice people at the Douglas Land Crossing.

Never really had a problem crossing anywhere though.

Love that guy on the Canadian one, don't know where he's from as his accent throws me off. I just find him hilarious. "what's this?", "little bit beef", "not little bit beef, everything beef".

Watched this episode tonight and thought of you .little bit beef lol

That seems to be what it is mostly, yes. People just don't do their research. I don't know why they'd think it'd be any different than going to any other country. It's not like we have something with Canada similar to the EU. (Where it makes them easy to travel throughout the EU if they live there)
I got asked similar questions when I visited Canada for the first time in 2011. It was a land crossing and the officer asked my then boyfriend, his friend, and me what we did (jobs, student, etc), where we went to school if we did. He asked what I was majoring in. How we knew each other.
I guess they just want to see if you stop to make something up.

I had a similar experience when crossing once from Victoria to Washington (forget the name of the crossing, sorry!) I was going by car with my then boyfriend, and the guy asked us a whole series of questions so quickly that we couldn't even answer them (how do you know each other? etc) At the time we both had a lip piercing, and finally the guy said "Where did you guys meet?" and before we could answer he said "The little ball in your face club?" then waived us on.

What the heck... seems kind of rude. I'd be like, "Excuse me?" hahah
Don't see the point in him firing off all those questions but not letting you answer. -_- Well, at least you got through! :)

This show got me nervous every time my gf visits me from Japan. My gf stayed here in Canada for 3 months from July 20 - October 23, 2022. She's visiting in about 2 weeks to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. She will be staying here for 2 weeks (Jan 20 - Feb 6). I've been shitting myself overthinking about the problems she will face at the airport lol. Being paranoid, I told her to bring every ties she has from her home country such as job acceptance letter and a return ticket printed. This gave me knowledge and anxiety along with it. Thinking about it makes me shit myself lol.

Well...it [get ready for it]...`Depends®' on any number of things. LOL!

You state that your girlfriend has previously visited you, which is a good thing.

Has she ever had any real problems with CBSA? Even if she had been routinely questioned in the past, did anything come of it?

If the answer to both is `No', then you likely are overthinking things. Hopefully you aren't fixated with other shows like `The First 48' or`Mayday'!

she was a student here before from Dec 2021 - March 2022. She stayed for 3 months and left Canada. She then came back after 5 months to Visit me and stayed her in Canada for 3 months (July 20,2022 - Oct 23,2022). During this time, because she said she’s visiting a boyfriend, the primary officer ask her about me, her purpose of visit, and length of stay. She was then sent by primary officer to secondary in which the secondary officer asked her about her job, how much money she has, a return ticket and was let go. Now she’s coming back for the third time only for 2 weeks to just celebrate our 1 year and she will be back to Japan to attend her job training at a kindergarten which she’s starting this April 1,2023.

You're overthinking and needlessly worrying. She'll show she has a return ticket, in secondary if necessary, and they'll let her in.

(Almost but not quite 100%)
