Hi,

I am an international student waiting for my Visa. Yesterday, I took a look at air fares and noted that flights are getting full and fares are getting expensive ever passing day. Is there any thing I can do to avoid paying high fares and to make sure that I get a flight on time? Any advice?

Thanks

You can book a refundable flight ticket

If I can't take that flight then wouldn't I have to book a different one, which will also be subject to availability?

Yes - it will be subject to availability. Refundable tickets are also quite a bit more expensive than non-refundable.

In the end, there's really nothing you can do to avoid paying more money for your flight as you get closer to your departure date.
