And you got your meds done before you sent in your app? We called 3 different DMP's here and none would do the medical until we got an order from the VO in Bogota.

Our application is being processed through Bogota, my husband is from Ecuador. I was approved as a sponsor Nov 2, 2011. ECAS says our application started processing march 1, 2012, but I have not received any other correspondence requesting passport or other documentation. I am assuming they would send the letter via email? I hope i haven't mistakenly missed it!

So it looks like your app has been in Bogota for 8 months?!? Hopefully you hear something soon. medellinguy said his process in Bogota was 9 months, so maybe you'll get a passport request soon!

ecas changed the day they issued the visa...so...lol...pretty funny how e-cas is nothing but accurate!

Its funny how some people's ecas is updated regularly, but others not at all. there doesn't seem to be any consistency between visa offices or officers. typical gov't operation!

I just found an email in my husband's email account that was never read! Dated March 7, 2012 - More than 4 months ago. It is from the embassy in Bogota requesting an updated police check and his passport! I hope sending it sooo late after the request doesn't have any negative consequences for us other than the obvious 4 month delay....im sooo mad we missed this, i just can't believe it! I've been waiting and waiting and it was there all along. Nothing about it noted in ecas or sent to me (sponsor) in terms of communication. From now on I'm checking his emails daily. I asked him to check but he said there was nothing there, just glad i had a gut feeling to ask him if I could go through his email to double check. Does anyone know if this is going to affect us negatively from here on ?

Send in the requested documents and passport ASAP with a letter explaining what happened. Email them as well with your file number informing them that you are sending these in. Maybe even try phoning the office in Bogota explaining it. Usually when Bogota requests the passport, you are getting very close to the Visa. Good luck, and try not to panic. Just get the police check and passport to them. Keep us posted

I just feel sick thinking about this. The documents are being sent by FedEx tomorrow. I've sent an email to the bogota embassy. Hope everything works out for us, have my fingers crossed!

I'm sure everything will be ok. Maybe follow up with a phone call to the embassy in Bogota once you see from the tracking number that the package has been received. Since sometimes it takes a while to get things like police reports, i'm sure your file is still in good shape. Deep breath!!

We sent an email saying we were going to send the requested documents immediately, and the embassy replied stating that our medical exam had to be re done as it has now been a year since the last one, and that hopefully we haven't yet sent the requested passport as it will be needed for the medical exam. My husband had his medical today, and we are waiting a week for his birth certificate (it takes sooo long to get anything in Ecuador). Once he has that then we will send all the requested documents: passport, medical exam, new police record check and birth certificate. I hope once they receive the package, that our wait will be close to over. I have my fingers crossed!

That news sounds positive! This means your file is still open and in process, so thats good! I think you can breathe a bit easier now!
