CIC uses a 3rd party Security company to do police checks, so you can't go anywhere to get it. We waited until we received instructions from Bogota before getting it, which would be my recommendation. But if you proceed with it prior to sending in your application, follow the instructions on the CIC website. That means you make the payment at Banco de Occidente, then email that receipt to aplicantes@procesosec.com, and send it to the embassy. If you wait until the embassy requests the police check, then you only have to send that receipt to the visa office, and they send it to the security company. Here is the link with the instructions.cinc said:So my husband called the doctor's office and they said he couldn't come until he has a number from the embassy. Is there no way to get this number before we apply so that we can submit the application with the medical report? Also, where in Bogota should he go for the police report. I see he needs to pay a fee at the bank but does he have to go to a police station or CAI to request it be processed or does the bank payment automatically request it? Thanks so much for putting up with so many questions!
It's good news. My wife had her second set of x-rays done 4 weeks ago and they arrived in Ottawa shortly afterwards. From what I've read on here, it seems that people tend to get the visa 6-7 weeks after this second set of medicals arrive in Ottawa.tecarf said:Hi everyone!
we just got a letter that requests my wife to do another set of x rays, anyone has any idea on how long this will delay the process? she will have them done first thing tomorrow morning and hopefully the physician sends them right away! I'm not sure if this is good news or bad news... I was hoping to get everything done by march and now I don't know.
As with everything in Colombia, if you don't like the answer from someone then try asking someone elseccunnington said:As per the medical, I'd call a different doctor, as I'm pretty sure you don't need a file number to get the medical for permanent residency...its a different process for other types of visas. We didn't need a file number when we did ours back in September. Just make sure you tell the doctor on the phone that the medical is for permanent residency, and not for a temporary residency visa.
No, we did ours in Barranquilla. We live up near Cartagenacinc said:Thanks ccunington. We'll wait on the police check and call another doctor. Did you do your medical in Bogota? If so, do you remember where?
I'm glad is good news then!! ;D I just got one more question for you doorsopen, did you guys get asked to send the passport before redoing the medicals or after? We haven't been asked to send her passport yet so that's why I'm curious!doorsopen said:It's good news. It may be a little longer for you then. We were asked to send the passport in July and they still have it! Unfortunately the embassy made many mistakes and delayed our process. We only found out about their mistakes when we received our CAIPS notes.tecarf said:I'm glad is good news then!! ;D I just got one more question for you doorsopen, did you guys get asked to send the passport before redoing the medicals or after? Thant's what I thought, ohh well nothing we can do now just wait a little longer, Hopefully your guys' process will be done soon. I recently sent our application to get GCMS notes, about 2 weeks ago so maybe another 2 weeks and we will be able to see them, hopefully there are no mistakes in ours. :-\doorsopen said:It may be a little longer for you then.
