It's a crap-shoot. You might get a decent VO, but more than likely you won't. We just received our CAIPS notes. They sent a document request via email, but spelled my wife's name incorrectly, and therefore an incorrect email address was used. I don't think most of these VO's in Bogota could organize a piss up in a brewery.

Thanks so much Ccunnington. I dont think you are far behind. You should be hearing something from them pretty soon. Just dont call them or email them. I heard phone calls and emails can add to the delay a bit. i dont know how far true it is. My wife was pushing me to call and email and i never contacted them unless they contacted us first. I wish all of us the best!!
Untrue. The only way I found out about some of their mistakes was by emailing them. They won't reply most of the time, but sometimes they will.

I just got my best chrsitmas present ever.......My wife just gave me the news....she just got the passports!!!!
Can't believe it....I'm ecstatic.

We've now had the formal request for a second set of x-rays. I only found this out by emailing the embassy. They sent this request to my wife a few weeks ago, but used a wrong email addres (again).

Not long now I think.... :)

congrats! I believe you are pretty close to the end of your process. once they get the X-results i am pretty sure they will issue the visa.

On a different note, are there any other carriers beside Air Canada flying from Bogota to Canada. Most other carriers are through US and I dont want to transit through US as it will mean further delays by applying for a US transit Visa. Air Canada is a little pricey!

AC is the only carrier that flies direct. I've looked myself at other options since westjet flies all over the caribbean, but connecting flights either with LAN, Avianca, Copa, Taca, Aires, are all expensive, and only connect in the capitals, such as Mexico City, Panama City...so its at least 2 connections to get to a city where westjet flies into. COPA is starting a direct Cartagena/Toronto route, but not until June or July. I know AC sucks and they are expensive, but its still the cheapest and most direct way to get back into Canada from Colombia. And connecting through the US is a pain in the ass as you'll require a US transit visa
