AOR is acknowledgment of receipt. CIC used to send a letter notifying people they received their application before approving them as a sponsor. Not so much in the last few months, people have started just receiving Sponsorship Approval without AOR.

Your application usually appears online after stage 1, when they have assigned you a UCI. If your wife had a UCI before she might be able to log in on Ecas a little before SA, like I did...

Awesome, that's exciting! Congratulations!

Hey guess what... I kinda discovered something. And YES I do have a lot of free time.

Bogota VO works on Mondays and Thursdays.
Check the spreadsheet.

Or if you just want to take my word for it, you're probably going to get passport request or AOR 2 on a Monday or a Thursday. It's when they seem to communicate. All the dates in the spreadsheet point to that.

Just a little piece of information that might be useful to some while they patiently wait for things to happen.

Hey guys, I applied for my background verifications through RISK MANAGEMENT, I'm already in Canada applying for the PR, CIC has asked to submit my police clearance since July but they did not accept the "pasado judicial", I would like to know how long does "risk management Colombia" take to process the police check.

Thank you.

I think it's two months from the date you pay, according to what people have said here.

Ok thank you so much, I paid today. Hopefully it doesn't take too long.

Hi Everyone,

We just received the email requesting the background check, went down to the bank and payed and mailed the deposit slip showing payments to the embassy! They say 2-3 months to process the background check and then i am guessing they request the passport? Just wondering what you have all experienced with the background check timeline and from here to passport request.... :D

Great, I updated the spreadsheet. I don't have personal experience but I am going crazy with the waiting, so I created the spreadsheet for reference:

it's been pretty calm in here!

nobody got news?

no :(

My application went into processing Oct. 23....

BOGOTA Office Visa Applicants 2014 Medical Questions

I'm relatively new to the forum and have found it to be a great resource for assisting me sponsoring my wife from Colombia.
I'm a Canadian citizen living in Ontario and she is still living in Medellin. We have a lot of our various forms almost completed. (including the country specific requirements)
We have a few questions that perhaps some kind person with Colombian sponsorship experience can answer.

Medical Exam....The only panel doctor in Medellin is
Jose Ingnacio Restrepo
Address: Clinica Las Vega,
Calle 2 Sur #46-55,
Consultorio 221,
If anyone has used this doctor.
Q1 How long did it take to arrange a medical?
Q2 How many photos were required to bring? (The forms do not mention photos for medical)
Q3 Did the doctor issue a receipt and then send the medical results to CIC?
Q4 The total cost of the medical?

Many thanks,
Solomon

Colombia POLICE CERTIFICATES AND CLEARANCES

Can some kind person with Experience with OUTLAND Spousal Sponsorship application clarify?

In the Part 3: Country Specific Instructions for Colombia it states..

POLICE CERTIFICATES AND CLEARANCES
You must submit original police certificates of good conduct or clearances from each country in
which you and each of your family members aged 18 years or over have resided six continuous
months or more since reaching 18 years of age. You must attach the original police certificate(s)
to the application. If the original certificate is neither in English nor in French, submit both, the
certificate and the original copy of a translation prepared by an accredited translator.

My confusion is that in many postings I see that many applicants wait until requested to send in the certificate.

Have other applicants went ahead and sent it in or waited until it's requested?

Thanks Solomon.
