Maybe I am the only one here who is not following how a 'boarding officer' at HK airport has any connection at all with Canada immigration.
Yes it is down to an airline to check that someone has a valid passport, travel visa and for example travelling on a one way ticket a permit that supports that but they as far as I am aware have no influence or possibility to feedback to Canada immigration whether someone is a genuine student or not.
Am i missing something or am I being totally stupid or is this discussion really only about an airlines boarding policy ?
