start ta bag-o topic.
one thing i've noticed here sa forum is the ukay-ukay nga winter clothes.
based on my experience, we used the ukay-ukay for a couple of weeks lang pag abot namo. we came here mid august and we were able to use it only until mid october.
after mid october, kadto nang winter clothes nga duna fleece nga among gi palit sa Cebu.
after mid November, its really not sufficient enough so I got a new one and its a goose down winter jacket. mura sya ug bubble jacket nga duna goose feathers sa sulod.
its nice and comfy. but lately, early December, nag kulang ra, so i now have a fleece inside it.
im not sure if there's some jacket in ukay-ukay nga maka parehas ana. We did bring our ukay-ukay we bought in Cebu when we went to China (Great Wall) nga ga -1 didto, I'm not regretting bringing it here in Canada kay it served its purpose, but now, i think i have to let it go kay it will occupy space in the room. Daghan mi gi dala.. I have 3 and my wife have 4... ukay ukay gani... the more you buy, the more nimo ma hangyo.
my point is about the ukay-ukay... i strongly suggest nga you limit it to 1 or 2 pieces and allocate money to buy the right jackets when you come especially those coming between the months October to April.
And shoes... of all things don't forget the winter boots. it must be insulated, waterproof and the sole must have a good grip para dili ma slide... Just this morning before coming to office, my shoes was covered was snow. I could imagine if I was wearing my rubber shoes. it will surely wet my socks and my feet, will be too cold for me to walk. for the girls here, take note about "Ugg" shoes, its probably the most expensive shoe you'll ever buy, but its effective.
winter shoes is bulky but comfy sya if maglakaw ka sa gawas, inside the office I have another shoe here sa drawer, i change when im here. here in Edmonton, there's this store "Shoe Warehouse" nga grabe mag sale. I bought a leather shoes in Cebu for 800 pesos from ayala when i went to a business trip in Singapore, I gave it away during our garage sale, but I ended up replacing it here with a $13 shoe, mas nindot pa
and those that are fashionista, the scarf
anyways... changing the way you wear clothes in Canada will soon change... not only with winter stuff but your fashion "wants" nga dili ma afford sa pinas.
Levis/Guess nga jeans
, Gap is more affordable
, Coach nga bag (dha mura tag 50K, diri kay duna baya less than $500),
Lululemon (sa mga chix diri, lululemon, take note, one of the best active wear, ga every week na akong wife didto
wala na dha sa pinas)
not only clothes but also gadgets... well, blackberry, iphone4, mac book, branded nga computer, SLR, where 50" HDTV is an ordinary thing nga mapalit nimo sa warehouse... you'll end up having more wireless devices in your household than the number of souls in there. :
im not saying nga kailangan jud ni sila tanan, but if you have that lifestyle or want to try that lifestyle (at least once in your lifetime), you can once you're here in Canada. but of course, don't keep this lifestyle, its addicting and financially consuming. These are just material things that can easily go away.
one of the stories i've heard here is the frustration about having financial difficulties is when people invest in town houses, having there own detach house with 3 bedroom, basement and 2 car garage... most stories i've heard is that the husband and wife must have full time work, otherwise, one of them ends up doing a lot of overtime that it affects relationship with the family members... that's something more nga angay i kabalaka, actually.
anyways too much rant... im just waiting until i copy some virtual machines here. its almost done, so got to get back to work now.
feel free to feedback any opinion.
