Birth of children in canada during express visa PR stay

Hi,

If my children take birth in canada when I move to Canada ( under express entry scheme), then would they be Canada citizens by default , even though I am not a citizen there and just a PR

Hi,

Yes, they will be Canadian citizens by birth. The Canadian nationality law for citizenship will work as per the principle of jus soli.

The Citizenship Act was also amended in 2017, but for my knowledge, I don't think they have changed the principle law.
