Friends,

I am a citizen of India, planing to move to Canada.

I had an enquiry about Birth certificate with CIC office, They responded as below:

CIC requires:

Secondary, Matriculation or school leaving forms must have the following information:
1. NAME
2. DATE OF BIRTH
3. PARENT’S NAME (EITHER MOTHER, FATHER OR BOTH IS ACCEPTABLE)
If you are unable to provide a birth certificate or the above secondary, matriculation or school leaving record, which indicates your name, date of birth and parentage, please provide an affidavit that has the following information.
1) NAME OF CLIENT
2) DATE OF BIRTH OF CLIENT
3) PARENTS NAMES (MOTHER, FATHER OR BOTH IS ACCEPTABLE)

Hope this information will help you.....!

Birth Certificate is the one which has high priority than providing additional documents. These additional documents will help in the case of not having birth certificate.

Quiry sent to this Email Address: CIO-Sydney-Search-Enquiry @ cic.gc.ca

They have responded around 20 days (total days including saturdays and sundays)

I have applied my PR without my birth certificate. However I have included the following documents:

1) Clear explanation/ reason why not providing my birth certificate
2) My 10th class certificate on which my date of birth and father's name is printed
3) Affidavit from my parents.
...and they have accepted my application..:)

I suggest, provide more than one evidence, incase you are not providing a copy of birth certificate.

Hi @pssreddy25
I have similar case. I don't have birth certificate and my 10th marksheet doesn't have my parents name. So I am planning to provide affidavit.
Can you tell me what is the format of affidavit from parents.

Affidavit:

Affidavit for (candidates name) Date of Birth Proof
TO WHOMSOEVER IT MAY CONCERN
We hereby certify that (candidates name), son of (fathers name) (Father) and (Mothers name) (Mother), was born on (DOB) in (place of birth, as it is on your passport).
We hereby affirm and declare that the above information is true and accurate to the best of my knowledge.

"XXXXXXXXXX"(Father)

in addition to above, get a letter from local authorities and attach "Form No 10. DOB non availability certificate"

DOB Proof statement:(type a letter as attachment to explain your situation)

Citizenship and Immigration Canada

I am XXXXXXXX an Indian citizen, residing in XXX. I am planning to expat to Canada as a permanent resident. As a part of the application process, CIC has requested for “Date of Birth Certificate” for the applicants.
Unfortunately in India, there was no Date of Birth registration before 1990. As I born in 19XX, my birth is not officially registered at local authorities. I have included “Date of Birth Non Availability Certificate” from local authorities and also an “Affidavit from my Parents” as an additional proof of my date of birth.

Regards,
