My birth certificate is in Dutch. Do I need to have it translated by a professional translator?

I think it does not matter. You can apply to Dutch embassy in Canada or US for this service.

As the sponsor, i don't think you NEED a birth certificate, it can be either/or


If you are the applicant, your Dutch birthcertificate already has like 8 languages on it.
(If you get it printed by the "Gemeente")

My hubby was born in Canada and he is the sponsor. I am the applicant, and now that you mention it, I see that it is already in the eight languages as you say, McDutch. Thanks! I was stressing out about everything, one less thing to stress about ;D

Actually it is hubby that has been looking over the paperwork, I'm trying but have a bit of an aversion to it...he says it is four languages, lol, ok, whatever, but as long as English or French are included in the four 8) This board is VERY helpful, I am learning lots from reading other threads.
