Hello,

I will be glad if someone can give me some advice on this. I am going to be applying for my PR under the CEC in the next couple of weeks. My birth certificate strangely does not have my name on it. It has both my parents' names and date of birth. And where the name is supposed to be, there is "a baby boy" instead.

Another problem is that my mothers name is written as her maiden name - Sultana Safinaz Kabir (whereas it is indicated as Safinaz Ahmad on my passport). My father's name is indicated as Sharafuddin Ahmed (whereas it is indicated as Ahmad Sarafuddin on my passport). can you please advise me on how much of an issue this will be for the application? And also what is the possible solution?

Thanks in advance,

Riasat

Hi riasatahmed,

You can get affidavit from lawer. The affidavit would be included your name, either your father, mother or both name , and your date of birth. And submiteed with your school certifcates. No need your birth certificate

Best of luck

Thanks a lot for your input.

When you say school certificates - does it mean by certificate/transcript from University?

Also can I not submit the affidavit with my notarized copy of birth certificate and parents' passport copies (as my birth certificate does state the date and my parents' names, although spelled incorrectly)

Have you done this yourself or know if this has worked for anyone else?

First of all . calm down . This is very common and many applicant face this kind of issue

if in your High school certificate contain any of your parent name (mother/father) and your DOB in that it will 100% work .
I submitted same for my spouse and never face any issue

Yes in cover letter you mention about this situation saying you don't have DOB certificate and you are submitting alternative instead of that

Thanks
and good Luck
