Birth certificate translation (Indian context) - OINP application

Advance apologies if this topic is in some other thread but I need help.

I hv prepared my Ontario application package
My birth certificate is in Punjabi language .... I attached a notarized translation of it
But my consultant strictly advised me to get a translation from a certified translator

Anyone who might have sent simple notarized translation and got accepted? ? Or is it mandatory to send a certified translation...

Cant you get one in English. In our state they give both . Please confirm again they might be giving English copy of Birth certificate.

Nope we get it in local language..... Plus now it would take a dang long time to get reissued.... Red-Tapism !

In punjab you ll get it in english also. And it ll take max 10-12 days. Once check with office.

I have to send my application by the end of this week

Then go to Notary and get "Birth Certificate Not Available" affidavit. OINP accepts that. this ll resolve your problem. do not sent your punjabi birth certificate.
