Birth certificate query

me and my spouse is not having birth certificate ... but we have school leaving certificate, Passport and 10th marksheet which displays our date of birth... is it mandatory to submit birth certificate?... please advise

Its easy to get a birth certificate .
You need to have these documents : 1. HighSchool Certificate
2. Copy of Passport
3. Medical Certificate ( Issued at the time of birth )
You need to proceed to NAGAR PALLIKA of your city and get a certificate issued by attaching these documents with the application form . They will make the certificate with the present date and not past date. And its acceptable .

No its not mandatory, if you provide 10th certificates where DOB is mentioned and an affidavit along with it.

I think they are strict about Birth Certificate. So your best bet is to keep trying to arrange it. Its around 40-45 days process in New Delhi to get it if you don't have it unless you know how to get your work done in India

Well, in case you cannot have it on time, you need to make an affidavit and two people should sign it as witness who could say that they were present when you were born. But that should be the last option.

you can also get it done at indian consulate if you are residing abroad.

You will need to provide the birth certificate.It should not be a problem getting it.Good luck

Rupesh I applied for mine and process was as below

I applied in SDM office along with my Mother's affidavit that My birth was not registered and they took copy of my class 10th Cert, rashion card and passport. SDM ordered birth registration and certificate on the same . Municipal corporation issued the birth certificate. It took about 25 days to get it

Hey there is no proble if you do not have birth certificate age > 27 as i have submited docs without any birth certificate of mine and my wife so... you need school leaving certificate and credit certificate (10th standard). as proof.. hope this helps to everyone as i am now in toronto...
