there is only a difference of one alphabet in my birth certificate surname and passport, for example it is like raj sarma in passport and raj sharma in birth certificate, wat to do

I dont think you have to provide birth certificate in any step, the important document is the passport, however probably you will need papers from your country as police certificates etc and if this are with a different name that should be a problem, if this is the case talk with a lawyer

One of them made a mistake right? I'm assuming your passport is spelling your name wrong! It only makes sense! Either try to get your passport corrected or get an official explanation letter from the embassy and include it in your application. If none is possible, compose an explanation letter yourself and mention you will get it fixed on either documents and you will update them as soon as it's fixed.

Also calling CIC or speaking to your local MP wouldn't hurt.
